Photo by the late John Palmer of two models built from early Caley Coaches
kits. Note that bogies are now etched brass with investment cast detail and
that sprung buffers are now supplied as standard as per the following specification:
Photo-etched brass body and underframe, including internal corridor partitions
(where required) and some bulkheads;
Etched and investment cast brass details and fittings;
Etched compensated bogies with full brake gear and cast details (except "Balerno"
stock which have compensated 4 wheel under frames);
Extruded aluminium roof (except 65'/68' stock which have a brass roof);
All wire, glazing material etc;
Sprung buffers;
Superbly turned and milled "T" door handles and
Moulded plastic seating.
Many Caledonian coaches originally ran on disc wheels with 4 holes in them. I am
pleased to say that Alan Gibson Workshop now produces such wheels. References 4S16 (P4),
