£155.00. Packed Weight 500g

A kit for one (or indeed two !) of the Caledonian"s workhorses. The Class 812 was introduced in 1899; an enlargement of the famous "Jumbo" 0-6-0s it was designed for general freight duties throughout the system. The first batch was also Westinghouse brake fitted for use on passenger trains (and thus painted blue). The Class 652, introduced in 1908, was very similar to the Class 812 differing mainly in the shape of the cab cut-out. The kit includes parts to enable either class to be built. The locomotives were allocated to almost every part of the Caledonian system and in L.M.S. days were to be found on many former H.R. and G.&S.W.R. lines. By the time of their final demise in 1963 they were not even strangers to N.B. and G.N.o.S. sheds.
Shown as the Class 812 variant in the illustration above.

in an article on mounting the motor in the tender while driving the loco in Scalefour News 201/202. [Please note that the 'dogged' smokebox door
shown on the two BR examples is not included in the kit.]
